Austin FC attacking midfielder Sebastian Driussi signed a new three-year guaranteed contract with an option for the 2026 season.
“I’m delighted to sign a new contract with Austin FC,” Driussi said in a press release Tuesday. “This Club and community have made Austin feel like home for my family and me. I have big ambitions here both personally and for the team, and I’m excited to work with my teammates, Josh, and the staff to achieve them.”
Driussi was the runner-up in the league MVP voting last season and made the MLS Best XI and MLS All-Star Team, finishing with 22 goals and seven assists in 34 matches (32 starts).
“Sebastian is one of the most gifted and talented players in Major League Soccer,” said Austin coach Josh Wolff. “He’s a top-quality player and leader in our locker room. This contract extension is well-deserved, and we’re thrilled that he’s decided to make Austin his home for the foreseeable future.”
Since joining the Verde & Black in August 2021, the 27-year-old Argentina native has posted 27 goals and 12 assists in 51 matches (48 starts).
Driussi added three goals in three MLS Cup playoff matches in 2022, helping Austin reach the Western Conference final.
