CF Montreal signed English defender Tom Pearce through the 2026 season with an option for 2027.
Pearce, 26, arrives from English club Wigan Athletic FC, where he had one goal and 20 assists in 105 games.
“We’re delighted to add Tom to our squad,” Montreal president and CEO Gabriel Gervais said in a news release on Friday. “He brings us depth at the left-back position, and his versatility also allows him to play on the left side of a back three. He has strong physical abilities as well as technical qualities in possession that will enable him to fit in well with our team’s style of play. Tom is motivated to join the Club and help us achieve our objectives.”
He helped Wigan Athletic win the League One title in 2022, which earned the club promotion to the Championship for the 2022-23 season.
Pearce previously played for Leeds United (2018-19) and Scunthorpe United (2019).
