FC Dallas announced it has acquired midfielder Patrickson Delgado from Ecuadorian Serie A team Independiente del Valle on a one-year loan that includes an option to buy.
Delgado, born in Ibarra, Ecuador, fills an international slot, pending the team’s receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
Delgado, 20, featured in six matches last season with Independiente after playing in 2022-23 on loan with AFC Ajax affiliate Jong Ajax in the second tier of Netherlands professional soccer.
Delgado was a center back, left back and defensive midfielder throughout his 24 matches played with Jong Ajax.
FC Dallas was the No. 7 seed in last season’s playoffs, losing its first-round Western Conference series to the Seattle Sounders.
