Nashville SC acquired veteran defender Andy Najar from CD Olimpia in his native Honduras on Thursday.
The 31-year-old MLS veteran is under contract through 2025 with a club option for 2026.
Najar previously played for D.C. United (2010-12, 2021-23) and Los Angeles FC (2020), tallying 11 goals and 17 assists in 160 matches (128 starts). He was the 2010 MLS Rookie of the Year.
“Andy is an exciting player who has the ability to contribute on both sides of the ball as he gets up and down the right flank,” Nashville general manager Mike Jacobs said. “His standout experiences domestically in MLS, in CONCACAF, and in Europe make him a welcome addition to our group.”
Najar played for Belgium’s Anderlecht from 2013-20 before returning to MLS.
Nashville’s season opens Feb. 22 against the New England Revolution.
