Antoine Griezmann continued his recent offensive contributions with a first-half goal in Orlando City’s 1-0 victory against visiting San Diego FC on Saturday night.
Maxime Crepeau made two saves for the clean sheet for Orlando City (8-11-4, 28 points), which won for the second time in its last five matches.
San Diego (8-9-6, 30 points) was unable to build off a 3-1-1 mark in August. CJ dos Santos collected three saves.
Griezmann scored his fifth goal of the season in the 28th minute on a sequence assisted by Justin Ellis.Griezmann has posted four goals in a three-match stretch. Ellis has provided an assist in five of the team’s last eight matches.
San Diego, which had posted three goals in each of its past two matches, had a more active second half and applied pressure at times, but it couldn’t break through. It suffered its first shutout since April 22 vs. Houston.
