Orlando City SC signed homegrown defender Michael Halliday to a new two-year contract through 2025.
The deal announced Tuesday includes club options in 2026 and 2027 for the 23-year-old Florida native.
Halliday debuted with Orlando City in 2021 and has recorded two assists in 30 MLS matches (13 starts).
“Mikey is someone that we’ve seen a lot of progress from since he first signed for the First Team and completed the pathway from the Academy,” general manager Luiz Muzzi said. “He’s featured well in some key games both domestically and internationally … and we’re excited to see how he develops even further in the next few years.”
Halliday appeared in 12 matches with the United States’ Under-20 men’s national team since 2022, including four matches at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina.
