The Philadelphia Union announced the signing Thursday of 19-year-old Danish midfielder Sanders Ngabo.
The two-year contract begins in 2024 and includes club options for 2026 and 2027.
Ngabo arrives from Lyngby Boldklub of the Danish Superliga, where he had a goal and two assists in 29 matches.
“Sanders is a young, promising midfielder with a strong potential to do well in our system,” said Union sporting director Ernst Tanner said in a news release. “Once rated a top Danish talent, we believe he’ll have the resources and direction needed to succeed and flourish in this environment. We look forward to welcoming him to the team and watching him develop.”
Ngabo will be added to the active roster following receipt of his international paperwork.
