Colorado Rapids defender Alex Gersbach underwent a procedure on a chronic adductor tendon injury and will miss six to eight weeks, the team said Tuesday.
Gersbach, 26, has played in just three MLS games with no goals or assists while dealing with the injury. His last appearance for the Rapids was on May 17, when he played the entire match against Atlanta United.
Gersbach, a native of Australia, joined the Rapids in the offseason and agreed to a deal through 2025 with a club option for 2026.
He most recently played for Ligue 2 side Grenoble Foot 38 in France.
