Colorado Rapids forward Diego Rubio is out two to five weeks following arthroscopic knee surgery.
The team said Monday that the 29-year-old Chilean had a procedure to remove a loose body in his right knee.
Rubio did not play in the Rapids’ season-opening 4-0 loss to the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.
Rubio tied the Colorado single-season record for goals (16) and set a new franchise mark for goal contributions (23) in 2022.
He has 50 goals and 30 assists in 149 matches (107 starts) with Sporting Kansas City (2016-18) and the Rapids.
