The Colorado Rapids loaned defender Aboubacar Keita to Ireland’s Bohemian FC.
The deal announced Thursday is for the 2024 season, and the Rapids retained the right to recall Keita, 23.
“Bouba is a player that we have high hopes for in this organization, and we believe this loan will provide him the opportunity to build match fitness and get back to playing competitive football,” Rapids sporting director Fran Taylor said.
Keita joined Colorado in a January 2022 trade with the Columbus Crew and signed an extension in August 2023.
He appeared in 37 MLS matches (28 starts) with the Crew from 2019-21.
