Revs acquire F Tomas Chancalay from Racing Club

The New England Revolution acquired winger Tomas Chancalay on loan Monday from Argentina’s Racing Club.

The 24-year-old Argentina native joins the Revs for the remainder of the 2023 MLS season, with options to purchase or extend the loan through June 2024.

Chancalay most recently spent time on loan at Al-Wasl in Dubai, tallying eight goals and five assists in 19 matches in the 2022-23 UAE Pro League.

“Tomas is a quality addition to our roster. He is an effective attacking player with good pace and strong technical skills,” Revolution sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena said. “We look forward to integrating him into our team and welcome his contributions as we close out the second half of the season.”

Chancalay registered 17 goals and nine assists in 80 matches with Racing Club from 2021-22. He began his pro career at Argentina’s Club Atletico Colon in 2017.
