St. Louis City SC signed defender Lucas Bartlett for the rest of this season.
The deal announced Wednesday for the 25-year-old center back includes option years in 2024 and 2025.
“Lucas has shown his quality from the first day he came to camp as a trialist,” St. Louis sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel said in a release. “He has incorporated himself well with the guys in the locker room and has shown in his short time here that he has what it takes to compete at this level.”
FC Dallas drafted Bartlett with the No. 6 overall pick in 2021 and he played primarily at the MLS NEXT Pro level with North Texas SC.
St. Louis City also placed defender Joakim Nilsson, 29, of Sweden, on injured reserve. He signed with the expansion club last summer but has not played due to a long-term knee injury.
