The Philadelphia Union could acquire up to $300,000 in general allocation money from St. Louis City in exchange for the discovery priority for Danish attacker Carlo Holse.

The Union said Tuesday they are receiving $150,000 in 2026 and $50,000 in 2027. Additionally, Philadelphia could receive $100,000 more in GAM should certain performance-based incentives be reached.

St. Louis City could use Holse’s scoring touch, as the team has mustered just 23 goals through 17 MLS matches (7-6-4, 25 points) this season.

He is signed through the 2028-29 season with a club option for 2029-30 and he will occupy an international roster slot.

“Carlo is a player we have admired for some time and someone we believe is entering the prime of his career,” said St. Louis sporting director Corey Wray. “He has consistently performed at a high level across multiple European leagues and is coming off another strong season in Turkey. We believe he has the quality and experience to make an immediate impact, and his ability to create and finish chances will strengthen our group in the final third. We’re excited to welcome Carlo and his family to St. Louis.”

Holse, 27, posted eight goals and four assists in the Turkish Super Lig last season and has scored at least eight goals per season with Samsunspor since 2023. Over nine professional seasons in Denmark, Norway and Turkey, he has 42 goals and 36 assists in 242 matches.
