The Vancouver Whitecaps transferred forward Simon Becher to Denmark’s AC Horsens on Wednesday.
Terms were not disclosed but the Whitecaps did retain a percentage of any future transfer fees.
Becher, 24, recorded four goals and one assist in 19 MLS matches (five starts) with Vancouver last season.
“With successful development comes increasing interest in our players,” Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster said. “This transfer makes sense for all parties, as it allows us to continue to build our roster while giving Simon a platform to move forward in his career. We wish Simon all the best.”
Becher played in one match in 2022, scoring a goal against the Houston Dynamo in his Aug. 5 MLS debut.
The Whitecaps selected the Saint Louis University standout with the 16th pick in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft.
