Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss Saturday night’s road contest against the Golden State Warriors due to right hand soreness.
It will mark the third straight missed game for the two-time NBA MVP. He missed Thursday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets due to the hand ailment and sat out Tuesday’s contest against the Orlando Magic due to a non-COVID illness.
Antetokounmpo was initially listed as questionable for the Golden State game but was downgraded to out on Saturday.
Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.2 points, 11.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 52 starts this season for the Bucks.
Milwaukee entered Saturday as the Eastern Conference leader by 2 1/2 games over the Boston Celtics. The Bucks have won three straight games and 19 of 20.
Golden State has lost three consecutive contests and is part of a jumbled Western Conference scene in which just 3 1/2 games separated the fifth-place team from the 13th place club entering Saturday.
