Devin Booker, Suns race to blowout of Warriors

Suns, Warriors

Devin Booker led six Phoenix players in double figures, Stephen Curry was limited to 14 points and the Suns ran away from the Golden State Warriors for a 130-105 victory on Thursday in San Francisco.

Booker totaled a game-high 31 points and 11 assists, Bradley Beal had 21 points off the bench and Kevin Durant chipped in with 19 for the Suns, who won for the ninth time in their past 12 games.

Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody paced the Warriors with 17 points apiece on a night when Curry shot just 1-for-6 from 3-point range.

In beating the Warriors for the second time in three tries this season, the Suns outscored the hosts in every quarter, gradually pulling away for a win that lifted Phoenix 1 1/2 games ahead of Golden State at the bottom end of the Western Conference play-in race.

Booker, not selected to the All-Star Game after having participated in four of the past five, topped 30 points for the eighth time in his past 13 games. He hit 12 of 23 shots.

Nick Richards also posted a double-double for the Suns with 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds.

Booker and Durant hit five 3-pointers apiece, helping the Suns connect on 19 of their 39 attempts (48.7 percent).

Phoenix’s Grayson Allen had three 3-pointers and added 11 points to complement six rebounds and seven assists. Mason Plumlee had 10 points to go with six rebounds and four blocks for the Suns, whose 25-point margin of victory was their second biggest of the season.

Curry, the reigning NBA 3-point champion, was held to one or fewer threes for the fourth time this season. He totaled 14 or fewer points for the ninth time this campaign.

Wiggins also amassed a team-high six assists and shared team-high rebound honors with Quinten Post with eight for Golden State, which had won its previous two games.

Moody and Brandin Podziemski made four 3-pointers apiece for Golden State, which went 16-for-44 (36.4 percent) from beyond the arc. Podziemski wound up with 14 points, and teammate Buddy Hield had 13.
