Grayson Allen powers Suns past 76ers

Grayson Allen matched his season highs with nine 3-pointers and 32 points as the Phoenix Suns beat the visiting Philadelphia 76ers 115-102 on Wednesday.

Kevin Durant scored 22 points and Devin Booker added 18 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds for Phoenix (40-29), which led by as many as 26 and outrebounded the Sixers 55-40. Royce O’Neale added 13 points, Bol Bol had 10, and Jusuf Nurkic finished with 10 points and 15 rebounds.

Durant (28,610 points) was 10-of-18 from the floor and passed Shaquille O’Neal (28,596) for eighth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Kelly Oubre Jr. led Philadelphia (38-31) with 18 points. Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Cameron Payne scored 12 points apiece, KJ Martin added 11, and Ricky Council IV chipped in 10. Tyrese Maxey finished with six points on 3-of-13 shooting.

Allen was 9-of-15 from 3-point range for Phoenix, which led by 24 points at the start of the fourth quarter.

After Philadelphia used a 14-6 run to pull within 105-93 with 4:39 remaining, Allen answered with another 3-pointer and the Suns went on to even the season series against the Sixers at a game apiece.

Oubre scored seven points in the opening quarter against his former team to help give Philadelphia a 23-21 lead.

After shooting 31 percent in the first quarter, Phoenix used a 20-6 run to move ahead 50-38 with 3:46 left in the half.

Allen scored 13 points in the first half for the Suns, who held a 60-47 advantage at intermission. Phoenix was 10-of-20 from 3-point range for the half, while Philadelphia was 4-of-18 (22.2 percent).

The Sixers cut the deficit to nine before Phoenix closed the third quarter on a 17-2 run, capped by Allen’s layup that gave the Suns a commanding 90-66 lead.

Philadelphia played without Tobias Harris (right ankle sprain), Robert Covington (left knee bruise), and star Joel Embiid, who has missed the last 23 games while recovering a torn meniscus in his left knee.
