Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins has entered the NBA concussion protocol due to an injury sustained in Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks.
The Hawks said Saturday that Collins was re-examined Thursday and his status will be updated when the club has further information.
Collins was involved in a collision during the 122-101 loss to the Knicks. He played 22 minutes before exiting and had eight points and two rebounds.
For the season, Collins is averaging 13.2 points and 7.1 rebounds in 50 starts. Overall, the 25-year-old has career averages of 16.0 points and 8.1 rebounds in 343 appearances (292 starts) in six campaigns with the Hawks.
