Atlanta Hawks forward Larry Nance Jr. underwent surgery to repair a fractured bone in his right hand, with his timetable for a return scheduled to be assessed in two weeks.
Nance was injured during the Hawks’ 120-110 win over the Miami Heat on on Dec. 28, and imaging revealed a fractured fourth metacarpal bone.
Nance, who turned 32 on Wednesday, is averaging 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15 games (two starts) this season. It is his first campaign with the Hawks after arriving in June as part of the multi-player trade that sent guard Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans.
Nance has averaged 7.7 points and 6.1 rebounds over 537 games (136 starts) with five teams in his NBA career. He produced 5.7 points and 5.0 boards per game last year in 61 games off the bench for the Pelicans.
