anthony davis

Los Angeles Lakers star center Anthony Davis left Tuesday’s road game against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first quarter with an abdominal strain and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Davis had four points with two rebounds in 10 minutes before departing with 2:10 left in the opening quarter.

Playing on the second night of a back-to-back, Davis was coming off a 42-point, 23-rebound performance Monday in a road victory over the Charlotte Hornets. It was the fifth 40-20 game of his career.

The 31-year-old has missed three of the Lakers’ 45 games this season.

In his 13th NBA season, Davis is scoring 26.3 points per game with 12.1 rebounds. The nine-time All-Star has averaged 24.2 points with 10.7 rebounds over 777 career games (770 starts) for the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans (2012-19) and Lakers.
