Philadelphia 76ers guard Kelly Oubre Jr. is in stable condition at a local hospital after being hit by a vehicle while walking in Center City, Philadelphia, a team spokesman told ESPN on Saturday night.
The ESPN report said 76ers representatives including team president Daryl Morey went to be with Oubre at the hospital. While details of injuries were not disclosed, Oubre is expected to miss significant playing time but not end his season, according to the report.
The incident is under investigation by local authorities, ESPN reported.
The 76ers were off Saturday after playing Friday at the Detroit Pistons. They host the Indiana Pacers on Sunday evening.
Oubre, 27, is in his first season with Philadelphia and averages 16.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals in eight games (five starts).
He has played for the Washington Wizards (2015-18), Phoenix Suns (2018-20), Golden State Warriors (2020-21), Charlotte Hornets (2021-23) and 76ers. He has averaged 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals in 535 games (207 starts).
