Cleveland Cavaliers star Darius Garland is out “several weeks” after sustaining a fractured jaw in Thursday night’s loss in Boston, The Athletic reported Friday.
The All-Star guard was injured in a collision with Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis during Boston’s 116-107 victory.
Garland had 19 points in 36 minutes in that game and is averaging 20.7 points, 5.9 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 20 games (all starts) this season.
Garland, 23, made the All-Star team in 2021-22 and has averaged 18.7 points and 6.7 assists in 270 games (266 starts) since Cleveland drafted him with the fifth overall pick in 2019.
