The Dallas Mavericks’ injury woes will continue as forward/center Maxi Kleber is expected to miss extended time with a broken right foot, ESPN reported Saturday.
Kleber was injured in Saturday’s 122-107 loss to the Boston Celtics when the 6-foot-10 inside presence scored one point with one rebound in 11 minutes.
The Mavs already were without big men Dwight Powell (hip) and Dereck Lively II (ankle) on Saturday. Luka Doncic hasn’t played since Christmas Dav because of a left calf strain.
“Yeah, it’s a hole,” Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said after the loss when asked about the center position. “It’s tough. … I’ve never seen anything like it and it’s not gonna get any better, so, we’ll see.”
Kleber, 32, has averages of 3.0 points and 2.8 rebounds in 34 games (four starts) this season. In eight career seasons, all in Dallas, he has scored 6.4 points with 4.4 rebounds.
