The Toronto Raptors waived Ron Harper Jr. on Friday after announcing that the guard-forward will have season-ending shoulder surgery.
Harper sustained a subluxation of his left shoulder during an NBA G League game with Raptors 905 on Thursday night at Long Island.
He was playing for the Raptors on a two-way contract this season and is expected to undergo surgery next week.
Harper, 23, joined Toronto as an undrafted free agent in 2022-23 and has played in 10 NBA games (one this season), averaging 5.2 minutes and 2.0 points.
He is the son of Ron Harper, a five-time NBA champion who played 1,009 games over 15 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers from 1986-2001.
