Washington Wizards swingman Corey Kispert will be out four to six weeks with a sprained left ankle.
The team provided the timeline on Wednesday. The regular season begins on Oct. 19.
The injury occurred when Kispert stepped on an opponent’s foot in the first quarter of Sunday’s preseason game against the Golden State Warriors in Japan.
Kispert, 23, averaged 8.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 77 games (36 starts) as a rookie in 2021-22.
The Wizards drafted him in the first round (15th overall) in 2021 after four seasons at Gonzaga.
