Registration opened Tuesday for the NBA2K20 Global Championship, with a total prize pool of $145,000 available in the international 1v1 competition.
The event will crown the first NBA 2K Global Champion with regional events in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas funneling into the finals early in 2020.
In Europe, global qualifiers were announced starting with the first three Sundays in October in Germany. The United States will hold qualifiers on the first three Saturdays in October and Asia Pacific dates begin with events Oct. 6, 9 and 13.
To qualify, players must be registered and participate in four weekly qualifiers with a first- or second-place finish required in that span. Weekly qualifiers are double elimination, Swiss-bracket format, meaning all players continue until they’ve logged eight total games or two losses.
Regional and global finals will shift from the best-of-one qualifier rules to best-of-three, single-elimination. Players will be permitted to use each NBA team once per day.
