Mohamed Wague of Alabama received a one-game suspension from the Southeastern Conference on Thursday for “committing a fighting act” the night prior.
The forward struck Florida’s Alex Condon in the head on Wednesday night during the No. 13 Crimson Tide’s overtime win over the No. 24 Gators.
Condon and an Alabama player went to the ground to fight for a loose ball. Wague was standing above the play and aggressively dropped his forearm into the back of Condon’s head.
As a result, Wague will miss Saturday’s showdown at No. 17 Kentucky.
Wague averages 10.1 minutes per game for Alabama, contributing 4.0 points and 2.8 rebounds across 24 appearances (eight starts) in his first season in Tuscaloosa.
