Blake Hinson scored a game-high 26 points to lead Pittsburgh to an 89-60 home win over Binghamton Friday.
Ishmael Leggett scored 18 points and 11 rebounds, Carlton Carrington scored 18 points and Guillermo Diaz Graham added 12 points off the bench to flank Hinson for Pittsburgh.
Hinson went 8 of 14 from the field overall and 4 of 9 from 3-point range.
Evan Ashe scored 15 points, and Symir Torrence added 10 points in defeat for Binghamton.
The Panthers shot 46.2% from the field overall (30 of 65), 37% from 3-point range (10 of 27) and 70.4% from the free-throw line (19 of 27).
Pittsburgh also outrebounded Binghamton by a 50-32 margin, forced 15 turnovers and collected 11 steals for the game.
Binghamton shot 34.4% from the field overall (21 of 61), 32% from 3-point range (8 of 25) and 55.6% from the free-throw line (10 of 18).
After building a 40-32 lead at halftime, Pittsburgh began to pull away immediately in the second half.
The Panthers opened the second half with an 8-2 run to grab a 48-32 lead with 18:19 remaining in the game and then used a 12-2 run later in the second to take a 62-38 lead with 14:20 left.
Pittsburgh then built its lead up to 30 points at 74-44 with 10:25 remaining and never trailed by less than 26 points the rest of the game.
The Panthers couldn’t quite get over the 90-point plateau in the end, scoring just two points over the final 4:09 after emptying the bench.
Leading 21-18 in the first half, Pitt went on a 9-0 run to take a 30-18 lead with 5:51 remaining in the first half.
Binghamton managed to hold firm the rest of the first half, ending the half with a 7-2 spurt to close within 40-32 at halftime.
