Dylan Disu, Texas avenge loss to West Virginia in big way

Texas Longhorns

Dylan Disu racked up 27 points, 19 in a dominating first half, as Texas rolled over visiting West Virginia 94-58 on Saturday afternoon in a Big 12 Conference matchup in Austin, Texas.

The Longhorns (16-8, 5-6 Big 12) put together their most complete first half of the season, building a 27-point advantage just before halftime and cruising to the finish line while leading by as many as 43 points late in the second half.

Texas pushed its advantage to 32-14 with 9:26 to play in the half and kept pouring it on, leading by 22 points when Mitchell hit a layup off an assist by Hunter with 7:37 remaining.

Texas eventually stoked the margin to 26 points after Abmas poured in a 3-pointer with 3:16 to play before halftime. Another Abmas basket from deep gave the Longhorns a 55-28 lead just before the break.

Disu scored 19 points before halftime to lead all scorers, while Mitchell added 10 for Texas. The Longhorns outshot West Virginia 65.7 percent to 50 percent in the fhalf and made nearly as many shots (23) as the Mountaineers attempted (24).

Edwards led the Mountaineers with 13 points in the first half but West Virginia was doomed by 10 turnovers that Texas converted into 19 points.
