Florida forward Colin Castleton is sidelined indefinitely after sustaining a broken right hand in a 79-64 victory over Ole Miss on Wednesday night, the program announced.
Castleton was injured approximately five minutes into the second half and did not return for the Gators (14-12, 7-6 Southeastern Conference).
“Obviously, it didn’t look great,” Florida coach Todd Golden said. “But we have a game on Saturday (against host Arkansas) no matter what, so if he’s going to be out for an extended period of time, it’s next man up.”
Castleton, a 6-foot-11 senior, boasts team-leading averages in points (16.0), rebounds (7.7) and blocks (3.0). He is shooting 50.0 percent from the floor.
Jason Jitoboh, who is 6-11 and 300 pounds, stepped in after Castleton was injured on Wednesday. He finished with four points and two rebounds in 17 minutes of play.
