Chauncey Wiggins led four Florida State players in double figures as the Seminoles snapped their five-game losing streak with a 96-49 thrashing of Mississippi Valley State on Friday in Tallahassee, Fla.

Wiggins hit 6 of 10 shots and 2 of 5 3-point attempts to help the Seminoles (6-6) secure their first victory since Nov. 25 vs. Cal State Bakersfield. Cam Miles added 15 points and five assists, Robert McCray V paired 13 points and seven assists and Thomas Bassong notched a career-high 10 points.

Florida State forced 25 turnovers and turned them into 31 points. The Seminoles also had 15 offensive boards that led to 17 second-chance points as well as a staggering 61-15 margin in bench points.

The Delta Devils (1-11) received a game-high 20 points from Michael James. He made 7 of 9 2-point shots but went just 1 of 8 from 3-point range, scoring 17 of his points in the second half. X’Zaevion Barnett added 11 points.

Mississippi Valley State, which has lost 10 consecutive games, made just 3 of 18 3-point attempts (16.7%) and shot 36.2% from the floor.

Florida State led in the early going but wasn’t able to really widen its advantage until a 12-0 run opened up a 24-7 lead nine minutes into the game. Miles scored eight of those points.

The Seminoles outscored the Delta Devils 42-10 over the final 15 minutes of the first half to take a 54-17 advantage into intermission.

The Seminoles shot 55.6% from the floor in the first half, including 42.1% (8 of 19) from 3-point range, and made 16 of 18 free throws. Miles led all scorers with 11 points before the break.

The Delta Devils finished the first half with nearly as many turnovers (15) as points, shooting 33.3% from the floor and 1 of 7 from the perimeter.

Florida State regressed on offense in the second half, shooting 40.5% from the floor and 23.8% (5 of 21) from the perimeter, but still managed to extend its lead to as many as 49 points in the closing minutes.
