Louisville guard Koren Johnson announced Tuesday that he will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
“Card Nation! I have decided to redshirt this year and get shoulder surgery to make sure I’m in the best shape possible for next year and my future! I appreciate all the love and support,” Johnson posted on X.
A newcomer to the Cardinals (5-2) this season, Johnson played in two games and contributed six points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals.
Johnson transferred from Washington, where he was the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year in 2023-24 with 11.1 points, 2.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 31 games (five starts).
It’s the second big blow in as many days for the Cardinals, who announced Monday that forward Kasean Pryor is done for 2024-25 with a torn ACL.
Louisville also lost starting forward Aboubacar Traore last month to a broken left arm. The timeline for his return is uncertain.
