Oklahoma State pulls away in overtime to edge West Virginia

Oklahoma State scored the first seven points of overtime to defeat West Virginia 91-84 in a Big 12 game Tuesday in Stillwater, Okla.

Anthony Roy completed a 3-point play and Jaylen Curry hit a 3-pointer in the OT run as the Cowboys (17-11, 5-10) improved to 17-2 when scoring 80 or more points.

The Mountaineers (16-12, 7-8) trailed 77-72 with 3:06 to go in regulation when Chance Moore scored five straight points to tie the game at 77 and force overtime.

Parsa Fallah led the Cowboys with 18 points and Kanye Clary added 17.

Curry finished with five of the Cowboys’ 14 overtime points and had 15 for the game.

Fallah came down hard on his knee during a finishing dunk with five seconds remaining and had to be taken off the court in a wheelchair.

Honor Huff led West Virginia with 20 points and Treysen Eaglestaff had 18.

The Cowboys made 19 of 27 free-throw attempts while the Mountaineers were just 6-for-12 from the line.

The Cowboys used a 13-2 run over the final 4:45 of the first half to lead 46-33 at the break.

Oklahoma State scored 22 points in the paint in the first half and shot 58.6% (17-of-29) from the floor, including 4 of 9 from the 3-point line.

The Cowboys also made 8 of 9 free throws and West Virginia never went to the line in the first half.

The Mountaineers made just 41.9% (13-of-31) from the floor and went scoreless for the final 3:39 of the half.

A pair of Clary free throws with 4:04 left gave the Cowboys a 37-31 lead.

Moore cut it to four with a layup for West Virginia, but Christian Coleman followed with a layup, and Fallah nailed a turnaround shot for a 41-33 Cowboys lead with 2:19 left.

Fallah made a nine-footer with 1:53 left and Curry finished a 9-0 run with a 3-pointer for a 13-point lead with 33 seconds left.

The Mountaineers jumped out to a lead by scoring the first six points of the game with Eaglestaff and Jasper Floyd both hitting 3-pointers in the first minute and a half.

Roy was fouled on a 3-point attempt and made all three free throws and Ryan Crotty nailed a 3-pointer to tie the game for Oklahoma State quickly.
