Christian Coleman scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Oklahoma State to a 91-79 win over Kansas City on Thursday in Stillwater, Okla.

Anthony Roy added 18 points, Vyctorius Miller and Jaylen Curry each tallied 13 points and Andrija Vukovic recorded 11 points for the Cowboys (10-1).

Karmello Branch led Kansas City (2-11) with 18 points. Jayson Petty added 16 points, Kasheem Grady II contributed 14 and Jerome Palm chipped in 11 for the Roos, who lost their second straight game.

The Cowboys played short-handed due to injuries: Parsa Fallah sat out with a back injury, and just one minute into the game, starting guard Kanye Clary headed to the bench and did not return.

Oklahoma State broke open a close game as it outscored Kansas City 27-14 over the final 7:32.

Coleman’s layup gave Oklahoma State a 59-49 lead with 16:05 to play. But the Cowboys went scoreless for the next five minutes as Kansas City reeled off an 11-0 run to take its first lead of the game at 60-59 on a 3-pointer by Palm.

Later, Miller blocked a shot and pounded down a fastbreak dunk to cap an 8-0 Cowboys run. His reaction earned him a technical foul, the Roos split the free throws and Oklahoma State led 72-66.

Roy’s three-point play gave Oklahoma State breathing room and an 83-70 lead with 3:19 to play.

The Cowboys opened the game with 10 straight points. Coleman’s dunk off a steal capped the rally. The Cowboys held a commanding 56-28 edge on points scored in the paint.

But Kansas City stayed in the game because they connected on 11 of 30 attempts from behind the arc. The Cowboys only connected on 5 of 14 3-point attempts.

As the first half wound down, Kansas City scored five straight points and trailed 44-42. The run saw Jamaria Clark convert a three-point play and Petty steal an inbounds pass to lead to a layup.

But Roy nailed a stepback three in the waning seconds and Oklahoma State led 48-44 at the break.
