Oscar Cluff made all nine of his shots, scoring 22 points as No. 6 Purdue rolled past Marquette in wire-to-wire fashion, 79-59, Saturday afternoon in West Lafayette, Ind.

Fletcher Loyer drained four triples, scoring 15 points for the Boilermakers (10-1), who have won two straight decisively at home after suffering their first loss a week ago against Iowa State.

Braden Smith delivered seven points and 10 assists guiding a Purdue offense which made 53.6% of its shots from the floor and 7 of 23 (30.4%) from 3-point range.

Purdue dominated inside with the 6-foot-11 Cluff, a transfer from South Dakota State, who scored his season high and added 11 rebounds.

Also helping the Boilermakers rule the frontcourt was 6-foot-9 Trey Kaufman-Renn, who provided 10 points and nine rebounds, helping Purdue own a 36-22 edge on points in the paint and a 38-29 advantage on the glass.

Royce Parham scored a career-high 19 points and Chase Ross added 10 points to pace Marquette (5-6) which is off to its worst start since the 1990-91 season, when it opened 4-7.

The Golden Eagles made 32.8% of their shots from the floor and 8 of 31 (25.8%) from 3-point range.

Purdue took command with an early 12-point run. Loyer and Cluff fueled it with three-point plays and Smith finished the burst with a jumper that put the Boilermakers up 21-8.

Late in the half, Purdue had a 9-0 sprint, which Loyer culminated with a triple that ended the Boilermakers’ string of seven straight misses from distance and gave Purdue a 37-19 lead with 1:22 left in the first half.

Early in the second half, Cluff scored 13 points in a span of 3:40. His run began with a three-point play and included two dunks, two putbacks and a jump hook. The spree expanded Purdue’s lead to 53-29 with 14:50 left.

The Boilermakers maxed out their lead at 77-47 with 3:51 left as Loyer made a trey and Omer Mayer followed with two free throws.
