Jason Edwards and Jaylin Sellers teamed up for 45 points on the strength of nine 3-pointers as Providence blew out visiting Fairleigh Dickinson 94-64 on Tuesday night.

Edwards led the Friars (5-4) with 24 points and added four steals, while Sellers went 5-for-6 from 3-point range as part of a 21-point night. Corey Floyd Jr. scored 11 points and Stefan Vaaks logged a 10-point, 10-assist double-double while grabbing four boards.

Eleven players scored for Providence, which shot 58.3% from the field, hit 15 3-pointers and took advantage of 18 FDU turnovers during the wire-to-wire victory.

Joey Niesman’s 14 points and Raysean Johnson’s 10 points led the Knights (1-7). Niesman scored 12 of his points in the second half, during which FDU had a 43-42 scoring edge.

The Friars led 52-21 at half, going up by as many as 32 with the help of 10 treys.

Providence immediately seized control, draining four straight deep shots to build an 18-5 lead by the first timeout. Vaaks hit two 3-pointers during an 8-0 run.

Sellers sank his first of three treys in a rapid span with 9:12 left before halftime to give the home team its first 20-point lead. Another in transition capped a personal 6-0 run.

After making just three 3-pointers before halftime, the Knights eclipsed that mark in the first 5:21 of the latter period. Niesman sank two in the first few minutes before Eric Parnell’s make capped a quick 5-0 run before a timeout.

Providence punched back with multiple runs to extend its lead to 36 with 9:49 left. A highlight came as Jamier Jones left an alley-oop for Sellers to dunk.

Following a Floyd jam, FDU made its biggest charge of the game with a 10-0 run that included baskets by four different players. Taeshaud Jackson capped it with a 3-pointer with 6:35 left.

Providence went more than four minutes without a made field goal until an Edwards layup with 4:07 left but closed the 30-point win with an 8-0 run.
