Starting forward Mackenzie Mgbako will not return this season for Texas A&M after re-injuring his foot, the team confirmed Monday.
Mgbako, a former five-star prospect, transferred to Texas A&M after two productive years at Indiana. He missed the first five games of the season due to a Jones fracture in his foot.
Mgbako suited up for seven games and had 12 points with a season-high nine rebounds his last time out, Dec. 21, in a win over East Texas A&M.
In seven games in his first season with the Aggies, Mgbako averaged 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in just 18.7 minutes per game. He’s put up 12.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game across 72 career games (71 starts) in parts of three college seasons.
