Rashaun Agee scored 21 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the floor as Texas A&M dominated in the first half before pulling away to a 118-77 win over East Texas A&M on Sunday afternoon in College Station, Texas.

Texas A&M (9-3) led by 21 points at halftime and slowly increased the advantage through a contentious first 10 minutes of the second half. Rylan Griffen’s second-chance 3-pointer with 8:05 to play pushed the Aggies’ lead to 92-61.

Texas A&M exceeded the 100-point mark for the fifth time this season when Jamie Vinson scored on a tip-in dunk with 4:46 left, and the Aggies waltzed to the finish line to win their second straight and seventh victory in their last eight games.

Pop Issacs had 15 points and Marcus Hill added 13 (on 5-for-5 shooting) for the Aggies, while Mackenzie Mgbako scored 12 points and grabbed a game-high nine boards.

Ronnie Harrison’s 23 points led East Texas A&M (6-6) while Damian Garcia had 10 points.

The Aggies broke away from an early tie to reel off seven consecutive points capped by Hill’s free throw at the 16:47 mark to take an 11-4 lead. A layup by Mackenzie Mgbako just over three minutes later pushed Texas A&M’s advantage to 14 points.

After a jumper by Harrison cut the deficit to 20-11, Texas A&M created significant separation with a 16-2 run, as Ali Dibba’s dunk boosted the Aggies’ lead to 36-13. The gap eventually increased to 31 points before East Texas A&M trimmed it to 48-26 with a 9-0 run, punctuated by Harrison’s free throws 3:08 before halftime.

Evan Phelps’ jumper with 1:04 left in the half brought the Lions to within 56-35 at the break.

Hill led all scorers with 13 points before halftime, while Issacs had 12 and Agee scored 10 for the Aggies. Texas A&M shot 66.7% from the floor in the half, which included a 7 of 12 showing from beyond the arc.

Harrison’s eight points paced the Lions, who made just 36.7% of their field goals in the first 20 minutes.

The first six and a half minutes of the second half were virtually even as East Texas A&M got to within 20 points on Gianni Hunt’s 3-point play with 13:44 remaining.
