Tounde Yessoufou scored 26 points and Cameron Carr added 21 to lift Baylor to a 101-75 Big 12 win over Utah Saturday in Waco, Tex.
The Bears (16-15, 6-12) made 61.5% of their shots from the floor, including 8 of 18 3-pointers.
The Utes (10-21, 2-16) hit 60.4% of their shots from the floor, but turned the ball over 16 times. They gave up 58 points in the paint and 15 second-chance points. The Bears scored 31 points off turnovers while committing just three of their own.
Don McHenry led Utah with 20 points and four rebounds.
Yessoufou hit 10 of 16 shots and Carr nailed 9 of 13, including 3 of 5 from the 3-point line.
It was the fifth time this season the Bears topped 100 points and the first since beating Arlington Baptist 124-61 on Dec. 29.
Terrence Brown also had 16 for the Utes and Keanu Dawes added 14. After trailing by 20 at halftime, they could get no closer than 17 in the second half.
The Bears made 67.7% of their shots in the first half and the Utes turned the ball over 10 times to trail 53-33 at the break.
Yessoufou had 15 points and four rebounds at half as the Bears led by as many as 26.
Seydou Traore hit a 3-pointer for Utah to cut the Bears lead to 25-18 with 10:49 left in the half.
Baylor followed with a 12-0 run to build a 19-point lead.
Yessoufou started the run with a 3-pointer and Dan Skillings Jr. and Isaac Williams IV had back-to-back layups for a 32-18 lead with 9:02 left in the half.
Caden Powell made a pair of free throws and Yessoufou finished off the run with a three-point play.
Dawes finally stopped the run with a jumper, but Yessoufou took over from there.
He made two inside jumpers and a layup to close a run of eight straight points for the Bears and give them a 43-25 lead with 5:26 left in the half.
The Bears weren’t done yet, however, as Skillings scored on a layup and a pair of free throws, Michael Rataj nailed a jumper off a turnover and Carr scored on a five-footer to end a 10-0 run and put Baylor up 51-25 with 3:37 left in the half.
