Defensive end Beau Atkinson, who played two seasons at North Carolina, is transferring to Ohio State.
He made an official visit to Columbus on Monday.
In 13 games last season, the 6-foot-6 Atkinson made 35 tackles (12 for loss) with 7.5 sacks and five quarterback hits.
As a redshirt freshman in 2023, he had 19 tackles (4.5 for loss), 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 13 games.
Atkinson, from Raleigh, N.C., was listed as a four-star transfer prospect and No. 20 edge rusher by 247Sports.
He has two seasons of eligibility left.
Atkinson will help the defending national champion Buckeyes and new defensive coordinator Matt Patricia fill the void left by the departure of seniors J.T. Tuimoloau, Jack Sawyer, Ty Hamilton and Tyleik Williams.
