Gaming activities in Nevada will remain shut down until at least the end of April because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak extended the statewide closure of schools and nonessential businesses until the end of April, adding 13 days to his previous April 17 order. The state is under a stay-at-home directive. The Nevada Gaming Control Board issued a statement to licensees reminding them of the directive that read, “All gaming devices, machines, tables, games, and any equipment related to gaming activity must be shut down until 11:59pm on April 30, 2020.”
That date is subject to change.
On Thursday, Caesars Entertainment announced it was furloughing about 90 percent of its U.S.-based staff, whittling to a “minimum workforce needed to maintain basic operations.”
