Aces coach Becky Hammon will work for ESPN in offseason

Two-time WNBA championship coach Becky Hammon will serve as an NBA studio analyst during the Las Vegas Aces’ offseason, ESPN announced Monday.

It will be Hammon’s second straight offseason of working for ESPN. She is expected to have a role on a variety of ESPN shows.

“Becky, who I truly believe one day will be a coach in the NBA, she is just an exceptional analyst when it comes to talking about the NBA as well as any basketball franchise,” said David Roberts, ESPN’s head of event and studio coverage.

In addition to guiding the Aces to their second straight title by ousting the New York Liberty in four games, Hammon spent eight seasons (2014-22) as an assistant coach for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs.

The former six-time WNBA All-Star as a player was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame earlier this year. The 46-year-old also was a three-time All-American, including first-team honors for the 1998-99 season, during her standout college career at Colorado State.

ESPN also announced the hiring of four other analysts: former New York Knicks general manager Scott Perry, former players Andre Iguodala and Austin Rivers and Stephanie White, coach of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun.
