Aga Makurat scored 21 points off the bench and Mikayla Blakes added 19, fueling No. 17 Vanderbilt to a 92-38 romp over Alabama State on Friday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn.
Makurat sank 8 of 15 shots — including 5 of 11 from 3-point range — to pace the Commodores (5-0), who led 50-22 at halftime. Vanderbilt kept its foot on the gas by outscoring the Lady Hornets (1-5) by a 27-6 margin in the third quarter.
Sacha Washington had 11 points and seven rebounds and Ava Black had 11 and six, respectively, for the Commodores.
Amari Franklin, Taylor Smith and Kaitlyn Bryant each had nine points for Alabama State.
