Toronto forward Auston Matthews, the NHL’s leading goal-scorer, will miss Saturday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins with the flu.
The team announced that defenseman T.J. Brodie is also out with illness. The Maple Leafs have been hit with an illness sweeping through the building the past few days.
Pontus Holmberg gets the start in Matthews’ place.
Matthews had tallied seven goals and 10 points overall the past four games. He entered Saturday’s action with 23 goals, most in the NHL.
