Buffalo Bills cornerback Dane Jackson and safety Taylor Rapp have been ruled out for the game Sunday at the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jackson sustained a concussion in the game last Sunday in a 32-6 win over the New York Jets, and Rapp injured his neck in the same game and left the field by ambulance but did not require hospitalization.
Starting cornerback Taron Johnson was injured on the same play as Rapp and was in concussion protocol. Bills coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Johnson had cleared concussion protocol, and he was a full participant Friday and off the injury report. Johnson did not practice Wednesday and was limited Thursday.
Bills safety Micah Hyde (neck/stinger) and defensive back Cam Lewis (shoulder) were full participants Friday after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday.
Jackson, 27 next Wednesday, has 36 tackles, four passes defended and one forced fumble in 10 games (six starts) this season. The Bills selected him in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he has 149 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and 27 passes defended in 47 games (28 starts).
Rapp, 25, has 28 tackles, a half-sack and one fumble recovery in 11 games (two starts) this season. A second-round draft choice by the Los Angeles Rams in 2019, he played four seasons for Los Angeles and totaled 330 tackles, nine interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and 1 1/2 sacks in 57 games (48 starts) over four seasons there before signing as a free agent with the Bills in March.
Johnson, 27, has started all 11 games this season and has 56 tackles, one sack, three passes defended and three forced fumbles. The Bills made him a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft. He has 408 tackles, four interceptions, 34 passes defended and seven forced fumbles in 82 games (61 starts) in his career.
