Bills fire Ken Dorsey, tab Joe Brady as interim OC

The Buffalo Bills fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey on Tuesday and named quarterbacks coach Joe Brady to the post on an interim basis.

The moves came hours after the Bills committed four turnovers in a 24-22 setback to the Denver Broncos in Orchard Park, N.Y. The loss was the second in a row for Buffalo (5-5), which trails the AFC East-leading Miami Dolphins (6-3) by 1 1/2 games.

The Bills rank eighth in the NFL in points per game (26.2) and seventh in total offense (370.1 yards per game). Buffalo, however, is tied for second in total turnovers (18), with star quarterback Josh Allen responsible for 13 of them (11 interceptions, two fumbles).

Dorsey, 42, replaced Brian Daboll in the role after Daboll departed to become the head coach of the New York Giants prior to the 2022 season. Buffalo finished second in the NFL in points (28.4) and total yards (397.6) last season.

Dorsey worked the previous three seasons (2019-21) as the team’s quarterbacks coach after spending seven seasons with the Carolina Panthers (2011-17).

Brady, 34, spent 2020-21 as the offensive coordinator with the Panthers before joining the Bills in 2022 as the QBs coach.
