Drew Commesso pitched a 36-save shutout for the Chicago Blackhawks in a 3-0 victory against the host Nashville Predators on Saturday.
Commesso was making his second start in two nights after being recalled at the last minute on Friday to fill in for Spencer Knight. He was previously 0-2 in NHL starts, including a 5-1 loss to the visiting Washington Capitals on Friday.
Tyler Bertuzzi had a goal and an assist, Nick Lardis and Ryan Greene each scored, and Connor Bedard had two primary assists for Chicago.
Juuse Saros made 18 saves for Nashville, which had won seven of its last 10. Nashville outshot Chicago 9-7 in the scoreless first period, with the Blackhawks being held without a shot on goal until 5:56 into the frame.
The Predators also outshot the Blackhawks 12-9 in the second period and 15-5 in the third for a 36-21 advantage.
Bertuzzi put the Blackhawks on the board 1-0 at 6:41 of the second period. Chicago was on the power play after Roman Josi was sent to the box for holding on Oliver Moore, and Bedard set up Bertuzzi in front of the net for a wrist shot past Saros. Nashville was unable to even up the score in the second, going 0-for-2 on the power play.
Lardis made it 2-0 at 11:01 of the third period. Bedard fed the puck from behind the net, and Lardis scored on a wrist shot up close. Greene scored into an empty net on a backhanded shot at 18:33 for the 3-0 final.
