Robert Thomas had a goal and an assist and Brayden Schenn added three helpers as the St. Louis Blues defeated the host Seattle Kraken 3-2 on Wednesday.

Logan Mailloux and Dylan Holloway also scored for the Blues, who improved to 2-0-0 on a four-game trip that concludes with stops Friday in San Jose and Sunday in Anaheim. St. Louis goaltender Joel Hofer made 34 saves.

Jaden Schwartz and Vince Dunn, who were both members of the Blues’ 2019 Stanley Cup championship team, scored for Seattle, which dropped to 2-1-0 on a six-game homestand. Dunn also had an assist, and Philipp Grubauer stopped 24 of 27 shots.

The Kraken needed just 31 seconds to take the lead. Adam Larsson’s shot from the right point was kicked aside by Hofer, but the puck fell right at the feet of Schwartz on the left wing. He corralled the puck with his skate and jammed it inside the near post.

The Blues tied it at 6:50 of the first. Grubauer saved Schenn’s shot from the right faceoff circle, but the rebound went behind the net, where Mailloux picked up the puck and completed the wraparound before Grubauer could get from post to post.

St. Louis took the lead on a 3-on-2 rush at 7:40 of the second. Cam Fowler got the puck on the right wing and threaded a shot-pass to Holloway for a tip-in at the far post. Holloway had a hat trick on Feb. 26 in the Blues’ 5-1 home victory against the Kraken.

The Blues extended their lead to 3-1 at 1:33 of the third. Schenn took the puck behind the net and fed Thomas in the slot for a quick wrist shot that beat Grubauer high to the glove side.

Seattle pulled within 3-2 at 13:34 of the third as Jordan Eberle circled behind the net before finding Dunn for a one-timer from the slot.

Defenseman Ryan Lindgren returned to the Seattle lineup after missing three games with an upper-body injury.

Blues defenseman Colton Parayko, the subject of trade rumors before the Friday deadline, sat out a third straight game due to back spasms.
