Brendan Allen earned some payback over Chris Curtis on Saturday night, winning by split decision in their main event middleweight bout at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.
Allen (24-5-0) took the cards 48-47, 47-48, 49-46. He lost to Curtis (31-11-0) back on Dec. 4, 2021, but has since won seven straight UFC fights.
On Saturday, Allen won despite having disadvantages in total strikes (141-128), significant strikes (124-112) and strikes to the head (96-72).
Curtis has been inconsistent since last beating Allen, posting three wins and three losses, including Saturday’s. He also had to settle for a no contest when he banged heads with Nassourdine Imavov in a June 10, 2023, battle.
Damon Jackson (23-6-1) and Chepe Mariscal (16-6-0) also won by split decision on Saturday, doing so in featherweight action. Jackson downed Alexander Hernandez (14-8-0), while Mariscal knocked off Morgan Charriere (19-10-1).
Ignacio Bahamondes (15-5-0) and Charlie Campbell (9-2-0) also came away with victories.
