The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially placed star wide receiver Chris Godwin on injured reserve Wednesday and signed two others to the active roster.
Godwin is out for the rest of the season after dislocating his ankle during Monday night’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He’s expected to have surgery this week.
In a corresponding move, the Bucs signed WR Ryan Miller from their practice squad to the 53-man roster. The team also signed punter Trenton Gill to the active roster to replace Jake Camarda, who was released Tuesday.
Godwin, who is set to become a free agent in 2025, had seven receptions for 65 yards Monday prior to the injury that occurred with less than a minute to play. He had 50 catches for 576 yards and five touchdowns in 2024.
Miller, who signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent in 2023, has appeared in two games for the Bucs, including Week 6 this season.
The Bucs signed Gill to their practice squad on Sept. 24. He has appeared in three games this season, punting eight times for a net average of 38.3 yards. He was drafted in the seventh round in 2022 by the Chicago Bears.
The Bucs also signed P Jack Browning and WR Dennis Houston to their practice squad in corresponding moves.
